"Sprinkling" is how a storm begins (after of course the clouds form and the pressure changes, ect.) So the point of this post is to set the mood and theme of the blog. Now for the squeaky hammer to the head: the theme is a play on words with my name: I am John Storm... get it, "Storm"...."Storm Drain".... If you don't get it yet, I'm sorry.
My initial plan for this blog is to talk about my working knowledge of the art of (for lack of a better word) Occult. Now before you stop reading and excuse this as a teenager without a clue. First, I'm 20 (yes I know, that's still really makes me a kid). Second, I grew up a firm believing Southern Baptist; that's to say then ten commandments are to be followed as closely as you can, and either you serve Jesus Christ or you go to Hell, end of discussion. I am now a much happier, open minded, hippietastic Pagan.
This change did not happen over night, and I owe it to a few different people, but mostly my lovely wife (don't argue philosophy or theology with her). Also some reading and life experiences.
So, useful personal Pagany info.
Primary elements: Fire and Shadow
Patrons: Apollo and Hades
Other: 12 years of swordsmanship (I know that doesn't seem "Pagany" but trust me for now, I'll explain later)
Anyway, there's your sprinkling.
Peace and Love.

I hate it when people will argue over what is Pagan and what isn't. Most modern practicioners will tell you it isn't hard to convert your already existing habits and personal rituals into a Pagan setting. Take your swordsmanship, for instance.
ReplyDeleteYou should read The Art of Ritual by Renee Beck and Sydney Barbara Metrick. I read it while I was at school and it helped me a LOT in my own practices..... [It's also the book I've been nagging at you to read >_>]
