So I just realized I should give the same warning that was given to me when I started leaning magick.
Once you begin a journey into the Veil, you can not go back. That's to say, don't use magick unless you are really ready, it's not a toy! If you abuse magick, you will find that existence will abuse you. It's the law of balance or moderation; there is no good and evil. There is push and pull, light and shadow, positive and negative, and it will always correct itself if you screw with it.
And now I should talk about the Veil. In case you've ever wondered "Why can't I see magick?" or "Why can't I see the Fae or Dragons or monsters?" That's because of the Veil. The Veil is the thing that separates our mundane world from the realm of magick, it's also what let's us work in secret. I mean imagine the chaos is a mountain that had the soul of a dragon woke up and decided to walk across the a country... it would be bad, people would die and panic. So with the Veil in place, if said dragon decides to get up and move, the mountain itself stays put and the dragon can go do whatever it wants and no body notices; expect that there was a strange wind and some trees fell over that day.
In other words, unless you know what your looking for, the magickal world remains hidden. Which goes back to the warning, if you learn to find the magickal world, it can find you. So in the above scenario; while most people barely notice anything, you get to sense the dragon the size of a mountain moving around, and the dragon gets to sense you. The world is very dangerous anyway. But magick users have a duty to maintain the balance and make sure that the things that go bump in the night don't do anything but scare people.
Keep all that in mind if you choose to learn anything from what I say.

Something else that is certainly worth mentioning: I've had a lot of debates with people ho have discarded their beliefs because of "inconsistencies." For example, I SEE that dragon and mention it to my magickal friend close by and they might see or sense a different image. I may see a big brown dragon with fur and they may see a big red one with feathers. In my own experiences, I've noted that the universe is nothing but a fluctuation of energy. Whether or not that loose energy has a form is up to the people witnessing it. It's why we have so many stories and fables about magickal things that take the form of humans. It's because that is what we, as human, are comfortable with. It's also the same reason why angels have a humanoid form. I, for one, believe that they are a immutable as the rest of the energy around us.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up and still living with mom, she would help me sort out all of theological problems that I would run into while on my journey into spirituality. One of my questions was "What does God look like?" I had always been confused because there were so many interpretations of "God" or "the gods" and I couldn't understand by. There were stories of people who had met him/them and fought for the belief system. Why couldn't anyone ever keep the image strait and if he doesn't look like anything that we HAVE depicted, how will I know it was him when I found him?
Mom simply explained it as "He will come to you in whatever form you want him to be. If you want him to be an older man with a white beard, that's how he'll come. If you want him to look like someone you know, that's ho he'll come. If you want him to be awesome and look like Alanis Morrisette, then that's how he'll come." When I was STILL confused, she would explain it using animals as an example: "Imagine being a dog going up to Heaven and meeting God. Now, does it make sense for God to appear in the form of a cat or even a human? More than likely, God will appear to him in the form of another dog."
